Week 2: Back to Basics
The Knights got back to what works best for them on Tuesday: Winning. With all of the players coming out of thier slumps plus solid defense, the Knights out slugged the Suicidal Penguins 16-13 going all 7 innings. an up and down game saw the Knights tied in the 5th until several good pieces of hitting were capped by Andrew Haynes grand slam. A nice catch in center by Justin Brailey was the conerstone of the solid defense.

Week 1: Opener is Eye Opening
The Knights had all of the confidence in the world walking onto the field, unfortunatly confidence doesn't mean wins. And this was the unfortunate case in the 13 to 4 loss to a very sound Ragin' Taco Hooligans team. defensive miscues and uncharacteristicly quiet bats led to the disaster. Some good hussle displayed by OF Justin Braily, IF Shauna Johnson and U Scott Hatfield weren't quite enough to spark any kind of great rally out of the Knights.

Spring 2008: A Case for the Defense?
With the spring 2008 season just over 24 hours away it is time to preview the Knights and see what chance they stand. And while they are not truly defending their title after skipping the Winter season to rest and rehab, they look to defend their streak and maintain the reputation they have built.
The buzz seems to be "Meet the new guys...Same as the old guys"
With only one change of personel the Knights look to be as cohesive a unit as ever. The only change comes at the 6 hole where slick fielding SS Jeff Lusk is replaced by an old Knights favorite, versitile utlity man Andrew Haynes. "Offensivly, its about a push. But defensivly we lose the range and strong throwing arm of Jeff" Said the Knights Fearless Leader Jeff Moore.
Other keys may include the rumored postion switches that may have some basis in fact.
One of the formost of these is IF Shauna Johnson could be seeing alot more time at first, Putting the captain on the pine. Filling the hole she leaves at 2B would be Knights regular Chris Melkonian, who showed solid skills in limited innings on the second sack last season.
"I was really encouraged by what I saw at BP the other day" Moore said about a limited practice, "Im really loving what im seeing out of our veterans"
But all remains to be seen as the Knights open the season tomorrow at 8:45 PST
Stay tuned for game updates
